Introduction
Boost Reading Interest with a News App that Delivers Personalized Content
Insightify is a mobile news app designed to increase reading interest through personalization and gamification. It delivers curated news from diverse, leading publishers, ensuring users receive accurate and comprehensive information tailored to their interests.
Staying informed isn't about reading everything, it's about understanding what matters. Insightify provides the personalized content and engaging tools needed to build a smarter reading habit, turning the noise of endless headlines into focused, relevant insights.
Challenges
The key challenge was to address information overload and low engagement in news consumption. The solution had to provide a personalized, trustworthy source of news that could cut through the noise and make staying informed feel effortless, not overwhelming.
Research
I conducted user interviews which uncovered key struggles with news consumption. Users find it difficult to access quality, relevant content, a problem which directly leads to major issues: information overload, disengagement, and widespread mistrust.
Solutions
The solution is a highly personalized news experience that uses smart curation and engaging gamification to make staying informed both simple and rewarding.

Process
Grounded in the principles of design thinking, the process began with a deep focus on user needs to guide brainstorming and ideation. These ideas were then translated into tangible solutions through wireframing, prototyping, and user testing.
Testing
I tested the prototype with 5 users to assess usability and satisfaction. They completed 3 tasks and answered questions using the System Usability Scale (SUS), rated from 1 to 5. The results showed an Excellent rating with a score of 83.
Outcomes
The final outcome is a high-fidelity prototype for the Insightify news app. The design translates user research into a clear, engaging, and personalized news experience, which was then validated by positive feedback from user testing.
